Governor Crist Announces Closed Harvesting area in Escambia County Reopens
Governor Charlie Crist announced tonight that The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has reopened coastal state waters offshore of Escambia County to the harvest of saltwater fish, at 12:01 a.m. July 31. The FWC closed this area on June 14 as a precautionary measure due to possible impacts of oil from the BP Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Governor Crist Welcomes United Technologies Corp.’s Fire & Security Units to Florida
UTC Fire & Security expands Florida presence, plans new research and test center TALLAHASSEE – In a boost to the state’s economy, UTC Fire & Security – a business unit of United Technologies Corp. – will solidify and expand its presence in Florida by locating the headquarters for its Global Security Products, Global Fire Products and Fire & Security Services groups in the state, and by establishing a new fire research and test center here.

Governor Crist Announces Changes in Leadership Team
TALLAHASSEE – Governor Charlie Crist today named Jerry McDaniel, director of the Governor’s Office of Policy and Budget since January 2007, to an expanded leadership role as a deputy chief of staff within the Executive Office of the Governor. The Governor also appointed Ken Granger to serve in an expanded role as a deputy chief of staff to the Governor. They will both continue serving in their current leadership roles.
