Governor Crist and First Lady Crist visit Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) for the launch of the “Winter’s Dream” project, a partnership between the CMA, Progress Energy Heart Gallery of Pinellas and Pasco, and Eckerd Youth Alternatives to promote awareness of children in state foster care available for adoption. The aquarium promotes the importance of adoption by paralleling the story of adopting Winter, the now famous resident dolphin, who has successfully recovered and adapted to her new physical form after losing her tail.


As part of his ongoing focus on growing Florida’s economy through job retention and creation, workforce training, and economic development, Governor Crist visits an Orlando job fair and a St. Johns County business development expo to promote economic development programs for Florida’s job seekers and businesses.

Continuing his commitment to helping foster children find loving and permanent homes, Governor Crist tours a first-of-its-kind Heart Gallery exhibit at the Mary Brogan Museum in Tallahassee. The exhibit is a statewide showcase of pictures and biographies of children in state care available for adoption.

In early 2007, Governor Charlie Crist joined Commissioner Charles Bronson to announce the Farm to Fuel Initiative to make Florida a leader in the national effort to utilize biofuels.


Recently Governor Charlie Crist flew to Central Florida to assess the damage caused by several tornados that ravaged the area in early February. President Bush declared the area a disaster allowing survivors to receive aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
