Governor Charlie Crist appointed Melinda Miguel as the Chief Inspector General for the Florida Executive Office of the Governor. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Miguel served as the Inspector General for the Florida Attorney General, the Inspector General for the Florida Department of Education, and Inspector General for the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.

She is a member of the Audit Committee for the Florida State Board of Administration.

Additional experience includes: Legislative Analyst with the Florida House of Representatives, Chief of Auditing for the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, and auditor and investigator with the Office of Inspector General for the Florida Lottery.

Ms. Miguel is currently the 1st Vice President of the National Association of Inspectors General, President of the Florida Audit Forum, past President of the Tallahassee Chapter of The Institute of Internal Auditors, former Lieutenant Governor of the Tobacco Tax Section for the Federation of Tax Administrators, and member of the National Association of Internal Affairs Investigators.

Ms. Miguel received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida State University in Economics. She is a Certified Inspector General, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Government Financial Manager, a Certified Financial Services Auditor, and a Certified Business Manager.
