“Today I join all Floridians in extending our heartfelt sympathy and prayers for comfort for the family, friends and fellow officers of Deputy Forgione. We honor him for his willingness to bravely face every challenge in the line of duty.
“I commend Deputy Forgione and the law enforcement officers with the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office for their continued dedication and commitment to protecting the residents of Okaloosa County. As heroes in uniform, they face danger with courage each and every day as they answer the call to protect their communities.
“We express our deepest condolences to those close to Deputy Forgione and to the community who mourns his unfortunate loss.”
